EYES
Cut a several inch long piece of black yarn. Tie a knot in the center, and then with a tapestry needle, pull one end of yarn through the head (before stuffing or attaching to body) where you want the eye to be. Then stitch the other end as close as possible to where you inserted the first end. Turn the head over and on the inside of the head, tie the two ends of yarn together tightly. Repeat for second eye.

TOPKNOT
Cut a short piece of yarn. Make a double knot in the center and using a small crochet hook or end of tapestry needle, push the knot through the center of the magic circle at the top of the head. If your magic circle is very tight and a double knot will not go through, try a single knot.

FINISHING
Sew beak and eyes to head. Stuff Head firmly. Sew Head to Body. Sew on Wings. Sew on tail. Weave in ends.

Just a note to thank you for this excellent tutorial on a seamless join for Amigurumi crochet. I crochet left-handed, but your instructions (for right-handed) were so clear it was very easy for me to 'transpose' it in my mind so that I will be able to 'seamless join' left-handed. I shall begin to practice right away on my next project. :) Thank you.
